Please, introduce yourself?

Hi, my name is Aaron Storry and I’m a Semi-Professional Photographer

Are you a self taught artist or have you been to a art school?

I’m 100% self-taught! Although I had a little help at college with Film SLR (which I forgot minutes after the lessons) I picked up all that I know from exploration and trying, failing and learning!

Where does your inspiration come from?

I’m inspired by everything around me, it sounds cliche – but since getting passionate about photography I’ve started to see the world differently. As a youngster I was really into skateboarding – I used to walk down the street and see objects I could slide, grind and jump off. Its simular with photography! I just see stuff and want to capture it!

Who is your idol, do you have one?

Completely unrelated to Photography but the life and work of Mark Linkous has been hugely inspirational. I hold his creativity in very high regard!

How does your job as an artist influence on your everyday life?

I think a creative outlet makes me a mellow person! So in theory I’m constantly relaxed! Of course there are pressures outside taking photos but the chance to do something I love and make money at the same time is a gift!

What kind of hardware and software you use?

MacBook Pro, Photoshop CS4, Lightroom 2 an 2 huge hard-drives!

Tell us about your typical work day?

I wake up (usually earlier than I’d like) – then take each day as it comes. If I’ve got a shoot on I’ll get my gear ready the day before so nothing is a last moment struggle. I finish when I finish and eat when I’m hungry! I’m mellow when I take pictures, I believe I get the best from my models this way!
